1. Scholarship Program: Post Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child

Brief Scholarship Description: UGC has introduced a Post Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship for single girl child with an aim to compensate direct costs of girl education to all levels specially for such girls who happen to be the only girl child in their families. 4. Scholarship Program: Maulana Azad National Scholarship Scheme for Meritorious Girl Students Belonging to Minorities

Brief Scholarship Description: Maulana Azad National Scholarship Scheme recognize, promote and assist meritorious Girl students belonging to national Minorities who cannot continue their education without financial support. Scholarship will be admissible for expenditure on payment of School/College Fee, purchase of syllabus books, purchase of stationery/equipments required for the course & payment of Boarding/Lodging charges. An amount of Rs. 12,000/- (Rupees twelve thousand only) would be given to each student. It will be released in two equal installments of Rs. 6000/- each. 5. Scholarship Program: Attendance Scholarship for Girls

Brief Scholarship Description: The aim of this incentive is to enroll maximum girls students in Chandigarh. Under this scheme, a girl student is given an attendance scholarship @ Rs.30/- P.M. for 10 months in a year from class Ist to Vth provided she has completed 75% attendance in a month. An Incentive of approximately Rs.1.50 lacs was disbursed to the 515 girl students under this scheme during 2005-06 and same amount has been proposed in the financial year 2006-07.

Brief Scholarship Description: In association with the FICCI Ladies Organization Girl Genius Scholarship has been established to award deserving young women demonstrating scholastic ability, leadership, and innovative thinking. 17. Minority communities students pursuing technical and professional education. These are Merit-cum-Means Based Scholarship of Govt of India for the providing financial assistance to the poor and meritorious students belonging to minority communities to enable them to pursue professional and technical courses. These scholarships are available for studies in India only and will be awarded through an agency designated by the State Government/ UT Administration for this purpose. The following are the eligibility criterion for the Denmark Government Scholarships:
  • Candidates should be Indian nationals resident inand below 33 years of age. However, for SC/ST candidates there is an age relaxation of 35 years and for academically brilliant candidates there is an age relaxation of 3 months.
  • Candidates should have a consistently good academic career with a minimum of 60% marks in post-graduation in the relevant subject or field of study 2 years of uninterrupted teaching experience after having acquired the desired qualification. M.Phil degree is considered as teaching experience.
  • Candidates should necessarily be invited by a Danish institute of higher education
  • Although candidates having knowledge of Danish language are preferred, those having no knowledge should be fluent in either English or German .
  • Candidates are required to reside in India for a period of 2 years in succession after their return from Denmark
Duration: The Denmark Government Scholarship from the External Scholarship Division Ministry of Human Resource and Development are 3 in number and are for a period of 4-8 months.
